| Biography | ||||
Born in Fergus, Ontario, Meredith studied under Carl Schaeffer,
Eric Freifeld and Jock Macdonald at the Ontario College of Art, Toronto
(1950-1953). Working with mixed media, ink, oil, gouache, pencil, watercolour,
silkscreen and collage, his colourful, large- scale non-figurative and
gestural paintings have graphic qualities based loosely on plant and human
motifs. He changed his name in 1951 and is the brother of William Ronald.
He received a Canada Council award in 1975. He exhibited at the MMFA in
1960, and held a solo exhibition at the AGO in 1975, AGGV in 1980. His
work is represented in the AGGV, AGO, CCAB, MAG, MMFA, MOMA, NGC, NMAG,
VAG and WAG. |
